Our team welcomes individuals from all over the world, no matter how much or how little they identify with their Asian identity. Because we represent the audience we serve, we ask that our applicants be part of Gen Z, or between the ages of 14-24. Our team is student-led and comprised of volunteers who gladly contribute to our platform without any compensation. With this, we aim to create healthy terms and boundaries for all volunteers.

Creative Team

Illustrator

Description
Illustrators create all graphics and illustrations for initiatives across NGA, with a specialization in digital art. They are to express their own creativity and artistry while also maintaining a cohesive style and following NGA’s creative branding. Time commitments will differ, however, it is preferred that illustrators are able to contribute a few hours per week and also volunteer for any urgent creations. Previous experience with digital art is required.

Requirements
– Ability to create graphics, particularly hand-drawn digital illustrations/art
– Previous experience with Canva and/or other graphic design softwares (Illustrator, Procreate, Krita, etc.)
– Create creative and original illustrations

Editorial Team

Editor

Description
Editors read and revise all written material for publication on our website and social media. This includes pieces from writers, social media content, and written submissions. Two rounds of editing are carried out by different editors, and all content needs to be polished before it is published. Editors should have a strong sense of spelling and grammar and have good time management skills. Editors should also be familiar with a wide range of writing styles and be open to clarification and providing constructive feedback to writers.

Researcher

Description
Researchers create thought-provoking posts for our social media platforms by researching and organizing informative content, which includes exploring relevant topics, current events, and urgent news. They are also to fact-check all research-heavy content and aid writers who will be working with research-heavy topics. They are encouraged to ensure that our content is inclusive and that different narratives are presented.

Requirements
– Well informed on current events and topics
– Exceptional research skills and critical thinking
– Ability to present research in a compelling manner
– Ability to work in a short time frame
