Next GenerAsian is a community of Gen Z Asians who are reclaiming our narratives and redefining our identity on our own terms. Through media, storytelling, and community-driven initiatives, we are unapologetic in our goals of highlighting Asian voices, decolonizing knowledge, and creating deeper understanding and connections within and beyond our community. The result? A true reclamation of our identities and narratives as Asian individuals.

Our story

Next GenerAsian was created by 15-year-old Cindy Wang to express opinions, experiences, and challenge the world we live in today. Born out of the lack of mainstream discourse surrounding Asian issues during the global pandemic, NGA was created with the belief in the power of storytelling to cultivate meaningful dialogue and bridge the gaps that exist.

Since July of 2020, we have been and are here to inform, inspire, and engage the Asian community and beyond through the stories we tell and experiences we create. Our work ranges from stories and interviews centred on identity to multimedia content challenging topics related to race, politics, immigration, gender inequality, and mental health, among others. Ultimately, we aim to foster vital conversations and promote intersectionality through the content we create. As a community-driven media platform and organization, we use our space to offer various initiatives, opportunities, and resources, and are constantly working towards diversifying the narratives we put forth to reflect that of the community we represent.
