How many pride reading lists is too many pride rea How many pride reading lists is too many pride reading lists? In this post, we have compiled our favourite works of contemporary queer literature from Asia, some of which deserve a lot more acclaim than they already have. These have survived generations of societal, political and internal turmoil, and narrate powerful tales of resistance which remain relevant even in a world as "progressive" as ours.

Welcome to our second pride month post! In this po Welcome to our second pride month post! In this post, we’re unpacking our preconceived notions of gender, and where they might’ve come from. We’ll also look at how a few AAPI cultures defy them. Decolonization is a vital part of empowering LGBTQIA+ and AAPI youth, because it forces us to take a good, close look at what we think is true. Pride is not only about celebration, but about resisting the status quo, and widening our scope of mind!

His intersectional identity as a a gay Muslim man born in Delhi, brought up in Kashmir, who later moved to America, factors heavily in his poems which makes them more raw and captivating. If the works mentioned here interest you, do check out some of his books which are available on Amazon or his poetry archives on Twitter (@/AghaShaahidAli).
